On Saturday, thousands of churches gathered together to do service projects in their communities for a day called Operation INASMUCH. I joined a team from Immanuel Baptist on a cold and rainy Saturday last weekend to do service projects around town. A small team and I went to Bordeaux Long Term Care, a state owned and operated nursing home. Together we entertained 13 women with hymn singing led by the beautiful (memorized) piano playing of Ms. Mary. It was so great to hear these older women of all backgrounds sing together the “old great” hymns. We also passed out goodies of tolietries, makeup, jewelry, and hand-stitched shawls. We left the woman looking and feeling beautiful! My favorite part was getting to talk to these women and see them smile. Also, getting to serve with members of my church-family, including one of my 3rd grade GAs. I hope we made a positive memory for those 13 women!
